James has been fantastic! He’s supported year 4 in class with maths mostly looking at operations; division, subtraction, multiplication and division along with delivering lunchtime activities and working with targeted pupils to improve behaviour. He takes groups out for active maths and they have really benefitted from that as they really enjoy the practical side of things. He has developed excellent relationships with the children allowing for a more focused education within class and pupil behaviour has improved too. I’d highly recommend this programme to other schools

Healthy HerO’s is a fantastic programme dedicated to providing support for children both on the sports field and in the classroom. Instilling the benefits of an active and healthy lifestyle, coupled with an appetite for learning at an early age is so important in a child’s development. Not only do they learn essential transferable skills, but the combination of the two keeps it fun and interesting. With this focus, it will hopefully provide children with a well-rounded outlook on life, and more importantly, a solid foundation on which to build their limitless futures. I’m pleased to be ambassador for such an innovative programme that aims to support schools in doing this

Premier League Primary Stars

Funded by the Premier League Charitable Fund we are able to deliver a range of physical activity and classroom based sessions in primary schools across the four London boroughs of Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets and Hackney. Funding from the Premier League allows the Trust to contribute to an improvement in the quality and standards of PE delivered at a primary school level by working closely with schools and teachers. The initiative is in response to the new Government agenda for school sport, putting increased emphasis on the importance of PE in primary schools. The free of charge sessions aim to improve physical fitness and fundamental movement skills. As well as having fun exercises it will educate them on exercise and nutrition. Allowing children to improve their self-esteem and school performance as well as enhancing their general well-being.

During the 2022-23 season, Leyton Orient Trust have been funded to work with 30 primary schools from the aforementioned boroughs over the academic year. For more information or to sign up your school for this programme, please contact: james.court@leytonorienttrust.org.uk or sam.lowne@leytonorienttrust.org.uk
